The Grammy-Winning, internationally touring vocal group are
looking for their new members!

This page contains an overview of the general audition information,
for specific resources for each voice part please use the buttons at the bottom of the page.

Key Audition Information:

Position Start-Dart: March 1st 2024
Application Deadline: Friday, 10 November 2023
Audition Information: Successful applicants will be invited for a live audition in London on the dates below
Audition Dates (UK Applicants): 7th, 8th, & 14th of December, 2023.
Audition Dates (International Applicants): Early January 2024, TBC (International Applicants)

The PositioNS

We are looking for a SOPRANO and a TENOR, both with very versatile ranges

THE SWINGLES
The Swingles are based in London with a worldwide touring schedule to some of the world’s most iconic venues. The group is made up of versatile singers of pop, jazz, classical, choral, musical theatre and folk music. The members are forward-looking, innovative artists creating new original songs and recordings as well as performing covers and arrangements of music that has inspired them from all over the world. The Swingles are a partnership of equals enabling each singer’s personality to shine. The 7 current members come from the UK, the U.S., and India, and from diverse musical backgrounds.
While The Swingles are based in the UK, we welcome international applicants as well.

Remuneration:
Upon passing a 6 month probationary period (paid on a per-project basis), the applicant will be made a partner in The Swingle Singers LLP. Remuneration will be an equal share of the group's profits and directly related to the number of engagements undertaken.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • have great intonation

  • can sing with a variety of styles and blend in an ensemble, both with and without vibrato

  • can adapt tone and vocal quality between styles throughout your range

  • can learn music from memory quickly and accurately.
    NB sight reading is not part of the audition and is not essential for the position.

  • want to be part of a team and take on creative and business responsibilities

You will be asked for:

  • Your name & contact info

  • A recent headshot/photo

  • A short cover paragraph (<300 characters.)

  • An up-to-date CV including relevant musical & business experience/skills.

  • Social media links (optional)

  • 4 short recordings (information below)


    Recording Information:

    The audio files do not need to be high quality.

  • A phone recording is absolutely fine, as long as we can hear you clearly.

  • All recordings should be a cappella, without backing tracks.

  • We really want to hear your natural voice rather than something that has been mixed or produced.

  • Recordings that have been tuned, or heavily produced will be discarded. Please ensure your recordings are an accurate representation.

    Naming Your Files

    Please ensure your files are clearly named as follows:
    Your Name - Song Title
    e.g
    John Smith - Little Organ Fugue.mp3

FAQs

  • We aim to notify all applicants by 24th November.

  • Live auditions are run like a rehearsal. All repertoire and information will be sent to relevant applicants if/when they are selected for an in-person audition.

  • Yes. If you have extra requirements, please email swingle.auditions@gmail.com with further information and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
